We are seeking an experienced and skilled SQL Server Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust technical background in SQL Server technologies and a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable data solutions. This role requires a professional who is an expert in Data Warehousing, Star Schema, ETL processes, and client communications, with the ability to manage onshore and offshore teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Database Architecture and Design
    • Lead the design and implementation of complex SQL Server database solutions.
    • Develop and optimize Star Schema designs for analytical and reporting systems.
    • Architect scalable and high-performance Data Warehousing solutions.
    • Implement best practices for database design, development, and maintenance.
  2. ETL and Data Integration
    • Manage and optimize high-volume ETL processes using SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
    • Design and implement solutions using Change Tracking for incremental data loads.
    • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems.
  3. Reporting and Analytics
    • Oversee the development of interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and SSRS.
    • Provide advanced reporting capabilities for business insights and decision-making.
  4. Project Management and Collaboration
    • Work closely with clients to gather requirements, set expectations, and deliver tailored solutions.
    • Manage onshore team backlogs and tasks using Team Foundation Server (TFS).
    • Effectively communicate requirements and priorities to offshore teams.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions.
  5. Technical Leadership
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in SQL Server, SSIS, and Data Warehousing.
    • Guide the team in the use of Visual Studio Database Projects for version control and deployment.
    • Mentor and coach team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server.
    • 5+ years of experience in a SQL Server Architect role.
    • 8+ years of experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
    • 4+ years of experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
    • Proficiency in Azure Data Factory and Power BI is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expert knowledge of Star Schema, Data Warehousing, and ETL processes.
    • Proficient in implementing Change Tracking for incremental data loads.
    • Strong experience with Visual Studio Database Projects (dacpac).
    • Familiarity with high-volume data processing and optimization techniques.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional ability to manage client expectations and deliver solutions on time.
    • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, onshore, and offshore teams.
    • Proven ability to manage and prioritize team backlogs using TFS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions, especially Azure Synapse Analytics or Databricks.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks.
  • Certifications in SQL Server, Azure, or Data Warehousing are a plus.
